For the second project, we continue the idea of armpit hair and try to use flowers as a metaphor for showing armpit hair. We will make a responsive flower under both armpits of the model. We tested materials from paper to 3D-printed ABS.
For the mechanism, we found some youtube tutorials and mainly focused on the blooming mechanism.

We followed the tutorial to make a paper flower prototype, and transform the paper to 3d print material to make it stronger.
Test02 3d print
we make a 3d model in fusion 360 and printed it out. However, due to the thinness of the paddle, we couldn’t print all of them at the same time. What’s more, there was an offset when we printed them, so even we make a precise measurement in Fusion360, it would be different when printing them out, we have to adjust the measurement accordingly.
What’s more, in order to get them printed more smoothly, we divide the hinge and the paddle and print them separately.
