Concept

The shame associated with body hair remains a prominent source of women's insecurities regarding their bodies. In our modern society, women are pressured to conform to a standard of smooth, flawless skin that encompasses being completely hair-free.

However, it is essential to recognize that it is unrealistic to expect all women to be devoid of body hair. We embark on a project dedicated to celebrating the diversity and individuality of women, as we challenge the unnecessary regulations imposed by a patriarchal society on the female form.

Our mission is to empower women to embrace their natural selves, encouraging them to reject societal norms that undermine their autonomy. We strive to create an environment where women can confidently reject unnecessary beauty standards, embracing their bodies with all their inherent uniqueness and imperfections.

Material

To build the fluffiness on the female’s body, we did a micro research on the suitable material that can imitate the tactic feeling of hair. We bought colorful spring stretchable pipes to simulate the exaggerated version of armpit. We eventually choose the hemp rope as the main part of our clothes after comparing the texture, delivery status and accessibility.

The crown

The crown serves as a representation of a woman's inner essence. Its connection point is a ball taken from a bubble tea brand's packaging, symbolizing inclusiveness through its circular shape. This circular form signifies a woman's ability to encompass and integrate diverse elements, even the most resilient of obstacles. The crown's design embodies the resilience and fortitude of women.

The cloth

We used a semi-transparent raincoat material (TPU), as the foundation for our vest. After measuring the model's size, we tore hemp to create a textured, hairy appearance. We utilized approximately 100 centimeters of hemp to ensure enough coverage for both the front and back of the vest.
